Gentlemen, welcome to Gilt Man.
Since 2007, we’ve been selecting only the best gear and gadgets for our members at prices far below what you’d pay anywhere else. We’re the only private club where you can shop in your boxers.
(Our sisters got the ball rolling as a sample sale thing, but we had to step in and explain a couple things about how guys like to shop. So at least this part of the Internet doesn’t smell like the fragrance counter of a department store.)
We’ve got everything you need for sports, dates, weekends and work. Shopping here couldn’t be easier: you see a picture of something you like, pick a size and a color, and we send it to you in a box. It’s that simple.
We figure the Gilt Man knows what labels work and what to avoid. We know you appreciate a well-constructed jacket and the first whiff of a freshly opened box of sneakers as much as we do. Maybe every now and then we’ll suggest a shirt—but basically we trust you not to leave the house looking like you’re going to an `80s pool party. (Unless that’s your thing. No judgments.)
Think of Gilt Man as a hardware store selling the tools for life: workware, playware, lifeware. Right now we have hundreds of items for sale at up to 70% off their original price: killer stuff at killer value.
Check it out; we think you’re going to like it here.
Meet the Gilt Man Guys
Nate Richardson
Vice President and General Manager
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: Definitely my running shoes. They're the first thing I put on in the morning.
- Men's style pet hate: Velour track suits. I run and work out a lot, and people who work out never wear track suits. Come on, guys.
- Favorite sporting goods brands: Tennis — K-Swiss and Babolat; cycling — Gary Fisher; ski gear — Patagonia; running shoes — Newton.
- My favorite brands: A growing list that includes Purple Label, James Perse, Black Fleece, Rogan, Save Khaki, Vilebrequin and Zoot.
- I describe my personal style as: Updated Yankee.
- But friends would call it: So last decade.

Redhead in the middle
John Auerbach
Director of Men's Merchandising
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: Band of Outsiders gray wool suit. It transitions from day into evening and is seasonless and timeless.
- My personal style icon: The third member of the Gilt Groupe men's team — Justin. I would never wear skirts, leggings, wedge boots or any of the avant-garde and runway fashion that he wears — but his courageous take on fashion is what keeps things interesting.
- Men's style pet hate: When something doesn't fit properly! Like if you have an expensive suit but the jacket is too baggy or the pants are too long.
- I describe my personal style as: The epitome of the Gilt M-A-N: modern, accessible, nuanced!
Richard Mumby
Director, Category Management
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: I wear boat shoes often. I sail a lot, but these shoes' water-resistance is just as effective in a crowded bar when the drinks are spilling.
- Men's style pet hate: Ill-fitting, frumpy button-down shirts. One more: Guys shouldn't dress like they're wearing a costume, unless of course it's a costume party. I love costume parties.
- My favorite brands: Ralph Lauren, Alden, Barbour, Patagonia, Sperry.
- I describe my personal style as: Thurston Howell from Gilligan's Island, but younger and in NYC.
- Favorite card game: Spite and Malice.
- Follow me on Twitter: www.twitter.com/rpmumby
Seth Howard
Style Editor
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: Metallic gold Louis Vuitton lace-ups — because I never see anyone else wearing them.
- My favorite brands: Costume National, Wooyoungmi, Burberry Prorsum, Yves Saint Laurent.
- Men's style pet hate: Socks with sandals. Actually, any kind of sandal.
- My personal style icon: Johnny Depp, because he's versatile and he always looks great whether it's in a tux or torn-up jeans. Living proof that it's not what you wear but how you wear it.
- Follow me on Twitter: www.twitter.com/sthhwrd
Christopher Wong
Men's Buyer
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: That's like asking, Pick your favorite child — you love them all equally!
- Men's style pet hate: "Dad" jeans with subway shoes (those thick-soled, square-toed shoes).
- My favorite designers: I always admire the work of independents like Rei Kawakubo, Ann Demeulemeester, Raf Simons, Undercover's Jun Takahashi, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaia. They never compromise their vision and always provide inspiration.
Emma Lee
Buyer, Men's
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: Yves Saint Laurent gown by Tom Ford. Totally red carpet appropriate! I snagged this stunner after selling my wedding dress on eBay.
- My personal style icon: Jake Gyllenhaal, he's not only an awesome actor but has a really charming, down-to-earth style.
- My favorite brands: I'd call this the Van Leeuwen Artisan question — so many flavors to choose from, Lova, Corpus, Shades of Greige, April 77, KZO and many more!
- I describe my personal style as: Chic and effortless.
- But friends would call it: Runway!
Alicia Kilmartin
Men's Lifestyle Buyer
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: My Patagonia fleece zippy. I was wearing it on a hike when my husband proposed.
- My fashion passion is: Collecting vintage clutches. Growing up, I loved to dress up and use a lot of accessories. I emphasize the words "a lot." There are so many pictures of me as a kid dressed up in all of my mom's jewelry and handbags that I earned the nickname Bag Lady. The name didn't stick, thank God, but my obsession with bags did.
- My personal style icon: My grandmother. She had the most amazing taste and looked glamorous all the time! I wish I still had access to her shoe closet. It was very impressive.
- Men's style pet hate: I don't understand why some men are opposed to wearing a winter jacket. Instead they rock the sweatshirt. It gets cold out there!
- My favorite brands: Most performance/outdoor brands and some extra brands like Moncler, Akris, Loro Piana. Amazing fabrics!
Justin Violini
Assistant Buyer, Men's
- Favorite thing in my wardrobe: Can I pick three? Bright blue Jil Sander paper-poly mackintosh; Rick Owens over-the-calf, four-inch-wedge boots; gray Thom Browne double-breasted skirt-suit.
- My personal style icon: I can't say any specific person influences me enough to mimic their style — however, I do enjoy people who stick to their guns and have their own personal vision of style.
- Funny personal story about clothing: I once accidently bumped into designer Damir Doma at a party and nearly had a drink spilled all over me. We laughed as I was wearing one of his coats and it wouldn't have been hard to get a new one had I ruined it.
- Men's style pet hate: Logo-mania.
- My favorite brands: Jil Sander, Rick Owens, Raf Simons.
- I describe my personal style as: Runway to reality.
- But friends would call it: Insane.
